Information We Collect

We collect only what we need in order to reply to those who contact us and to understand how this site is used.

• Data you give us directly: when you complete the contact form — name, email address, telephone number (optional) and the content of your message;
• Booking data: when you book a consultation, the data you enter into the scheduling service — name, email, chosen time and any description you decide to include;
• Usage data: only if you consent to statistical analysis — pages visited, time spent, approximate location (at city or country level), device and browser type, and where the visit came from. Without consent, this data is not collected;
• Preferences saved in your browser: your cookie decision, your language and your theme (light or dark) are held in your device's local storage. They are not transmitted to us and are not used to identify you.

We do not collect special categories of data through this site. Sensitive case documentation is always handled through a dedicated channel, never through the form.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect about you to reply to you, provide our services and improve this site. Specifically:

• Respond to your requests, comments and questions;
• Schedule and prepare consultations;
• Provide the legal and technology services we are engaged for, and send you related communications — proposals, invoices and updates on your matter;
• Comply with our legal, professional-conduct, tax and accounting obligations;
• Prevent abuse of the form and other unlawful activity, protecting our rights and those of third parties;
• Analyse site usage trends in aggregate, in order to improve it.

We do not sell your data, do not pass it to third parties for marketing purposes, and do not run targeted advertising from it.

How We May Share Information

We do not share your data, except in the following situations:

• Service providers: we use suppliers who process data on our behalf and only on our instructions — website hosting (statichost.eu, in the European Union), delivery of contact form messages (Web3Forms), consultation scheduling (Microsoft Bookings) and statistical analysis (Google Analytics, only with your consent — see “Advertising and Analytics”);
• To comply with the law: where we are required to respond to a legitimate request from a public or judicial authority;
• Corporate changes: in the context of a merger, acquisition, reorganisation or transfer of the business, should one occur;
• With your consent: in any other situation, only if you authorise us to.

The professional secrecy by which the lawyer is bound covers all client information and prevails over this section.

Advertising and Analytics

We do not display advertising on this site and we do not work with advertising networks.

We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. It is set up in consent mode: by default, storage for analytics purposes is denied and nothing is collected. Collection begins only after you accept in the cookie notice.

To change your decision, clear this site's data in your browser — the notice will appear again on your next visit.

Data Security

We implement commercially reasonable security measures designed to protect your information. However, despite our best efforts, no security measure is entirely impenetrable.

Data Retention

We store the information we collect about you for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected or for other legitimate business purposes, including to comply with our legal, regulatory or compliance obligations.

EU Privacy Rights

Individuals located in certain countries, including the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom, have specific statutory rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in relation to their personal data.

Where the information we collect is associated with an identified or identifiable natural person and is protected as personal data under the GDPR, it is referred to in this Privacy Policy as “Personal Data”.

Data Subject Access Requests. Subject to any exemptions provided by law, you may have the right to request:

• A copy of the Personal Data we hold about you;
• Correction of the Personal Data we hold about you;
• Deletion of your Account or Personal Data;
• To object to the processing of your Personal Data for certain purposes.

We generally process requests within one month. We may need to request specific information to confirm your identity and/or the jurisdiction in which you live. If your request is complex or if you have made a large number of requests, it may take longer. We will let you know if we need more than one month to respond.

Complaint to a supervisory authority. If you consider that the processing of your Personal Data infringes the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Portugal this is the Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (CNPD) — www.cnpd.pt. If you live in another Member State, you may contact the supervisory authority where you reside.

Legal Bases for Processing Personal Data. We may process your Personal Data under applicable data protection law on the following legal bases:

• Contractual Necessity: we may process your Personal Data to enter into or perform a contract with you;
• Consent: where you have given us consent to process your Personal Data. You may withdraw your consent at any time;
• Legitimate Interest: we process your Personal Data to provide our Services, such as delivering the online experience, communicating with you, providing customer support, marketing, analysing and improving our business, and protecting our Services.

Age Limitations

Our Service is intended for adults aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a minor in your care has provided us with data through this site, please contact us at legal@anjosbrum.com and we will delete it.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. We encourage you to visit this page to stay informed. If the changes are material, we may provide you with additional notice by email or through our Services. Continued use of the Services indicates your acceptance of the amended Privacy Policy.

International Data Transfers

The site is hosted in the European Union. Some of the providers listed above may, however, process data outside the European Economic Area, in particular in the United States.

Where that happens, the transfer relies on the mechanisms set out in Chapter V of the GDPR — an adequacy decision of the European Commission, or standard contractual clauses entered into with the provider.
